With a swish of the head, the fickle-minded being decided to convince herself that the other choice is wiser.

Surviving in the wilds
The guide took out a leave from his pocket and began telling us about the 3 types of inedible leaves from the forest:
1. Leaves that smells funny
He crushed the leaf with his palms and passed the bits for us to sniff... smelt like medicated oil. Hmm.. i won't want that in my stomach
2. Hairy leaves
Imagine the hair clinging on in the digestive tract...
3. Leaves with sap
They leave a coating in the stomach, thus cutting off the transport of nutrients from whatever food that is digesting in the stomach....

How about other food from the forest?... "We can do a series of tests...," he said
1. Armpit test
crush a small amount of food (nut, berry, root, etc) and rub a small portion on the skin of the armpit. "The area there is the most sensitive part....." After 5 seconds, if there is no itching, go to on test no. 2....
2. Lips test
with the crushed portion, dab a small bit on the lower lip and wait for 5 seconds again.
3. Tip of tongue test
Hopefully, having survive until this stage, proceed to tip a small amount of the crushed food onto the tip of the tongue and see if there's any effects after 5 seconds...
4. Back of tongue test
tread more adventurously and move fresh food into the back of the tongue but not to swallow.. hold for 5 seconds
5. Before Gobbling
one final hurdle.....pop a small portion and swallow it into the stomach.. This test requires 5 mins.
*along the way, if reactions occur, remember to rinse with plenty of water!
** if all else fails, observe what the other jungle creatures are eating and just follow suit!

Talking about water.... can be obtained from
- Lianas
not the ones growing towards the forest floor; they are the ones sourcing for water. Look for ones that grows from the ground, reaching upwards for the sun
- Bamboo
Fresh water hidden in the hollows of the bamboo plant

That's all that i'd managed to remember.... I guess being a veggie eater is easier for surviving in the jungle

I felt sorry for the auntie whose handphone sprung to life - suddenly playing out trendy music. I watched on as she fumbled the knobs on the left and right of her handphone trying to stop the music... Her face was starting to blossom red with embarassment and I could almost see the starting of wrinkles on her forehead. A few minutes later, she managed to stub the right button, pushed it, and breathed a quiet sigh of relief before we all of us on the bus explode from the horrendous din .
